A history of professional craftsmanship
Originally founded in 1872 by William Telfer, we’re a family-run business with a long tradition of professional craftsmanship and service.
Our history runs right back to the days of the traditional blacksmith’s forge and bellows, when we operated from a small workshop in Hawick in the Scottish Borders. We’re still based in Hawick – but today, we have our own purpose-built workshop and offices. We’ve grown steadily over the years and have continually invested in the latest machinery, including a computerised band saw, iron worker and mig welders.
We also believe strongly in investing in the skills of our workforce. Our team has grown over the years, and each member is accredited through the CSCS registration system.
